Help Me Fund It is a web site that uses affiliate marketing to generate money for creative projects. Much like the popular cashback websites that you'll find around the web at the moment, only the commission generated by shopping with our large selection of merchants is donated to your chosen project.
It's simple:
1) Support a project by going to its project page and clicking the 'Support this Project' button.
2) Then go to the merchants page, find the merchant you want to shop at and click the button.
3) That's it! You can enjoy the fruits of your shopping, with a warm, fuzzy feeling that your chosen project has received commission from anything you buy.
If you are supporting a project by shopping, you don't pay any extra - just shop away!
Just log in using your Twitter, Facebook or Google+ account, then select the Create a New Project option from the menu item showing your name.
Help Me Fund It is primarily set up to support creative projects, such as short films, art installations, photographic projects and such like, although it can be used for anything that is project based and has a clearly defined goal.
'Lifestyle funding' projects where, for example, you ask for specific items of equipment, or projects that collect money for charities are not allowed.
Any projects deemed unsuitable will be deactivated at our discretion.
It varies from merchant to merchant, but it's usually between 3% to 5% commission of any sale. The more you promote your project page and get people to support your project when they shop online, the more you'll get!
It's free to promote your project on Help Me Find It, but we take 5% of any commission earned as a handling fee.
We'll pay the money you've generated during the first seven days of each month following:
1) The day you reach your target amount.
2) The day your project deadline expires.
Once your project reaches either of these two milestones its status will be set to Completed and you will no longer be able to collect funds.
To ensure we can keep accurate records, we don't allow you to delete a project. However, if you set a project's status to Draft, no-one but you will know it's there.
Help Me Fund It is the brainchild of Andy Coughlan, a filmmaker, programmer and writer from South East England. He would love there to be a fascinating story behind the genesis of the site that one day can be made into an award winning film, but unfortunately there isn't one.
